CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF ODONTOGENIC KERATOCYSTS: 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE FROM A SINGLE CENTER

Objective: The aim of the study is to update our understanding clinicopathological features odontogenic keratocysts in a series 43 cases from single center.Material and Methods: This retrospective included 51 specimens patients diagnosed between 2010 2020. Microscopic findings, patients’ age, gender, lesion location, presence or absence recurrence were noted.Results: group 22 men 21 women with mean age 38.72 /year. In 37 patients, occurred mandible, while 6 it was found maxilla. Three associated nevoid basal-cell carcinoma syndrome. had multiple cysts. Satellite cysts present on cyst walls 5 cases. Epithelial islands 4 28 cases, moderate severe inflammation observed wall. Among them, 18 classical keratocyst lost some areas epithelium. Elongation rete ridges radicular cyst-like 12 only 41.66% keratocystic tumor terms given provisional diagnoses. Clinically, most frequently confused lesions differential diagnosis dentigerous cyst, residual ameloblastoma. No any patients.Conclusion: Concomitant can cause changes epithelium may hide diagnostic keratocysts. Therefore, careful examination required for accurate diagnosis.
